Help Save Lives (NAPSA)—Every 45 minutes, someone in this country is injured in a home fire, mostly in places without working smoke alarms—butyou can help reduce suchstatistics. ‘Three Steps Toward A Solution 1. Check that you have working smoke alarms onevery floor, in cooking areas andin every bedroom ofyour house. 2. Volunteerto help the American Red Cross. It’s calling for thousands of volunteers to join Sound the Alarm events across the countryas partofits Home Fire Campaign. During these Help keep your loved ones and neighbors safe from homefires by installing working smoke alarms. Volunteerat www.SoundTheAlarm.org. events, volunteers and partners install smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms andhelp families create escapeplans. As ofMarch, the campaign is credited with saving 381 lives. Morethan 1.1 million smoke alarms have been installed during Sound the Alarm homefire safety and smoke alarm installation events and volunteers are needed to help with upcomingevents. 3.Donate to the American Red Cross. The money will help educate families onfire safety;install free smoke alarms nationwide; and provide food, comfort andaidto those who have been affected by a homefire. You'll bejoining thousandsof other Americans and generous organizations including Almost Family, Delta Air Lines, and FEMA through its Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
