EUTS Using A Professional In Elder Care (NAPSA)—A growing number of families are finding help in car- ing for an older loved one. They’re turning to the services of a geri- atric care manager, or GCM. It’s the role of the GCM to assess the older person’s needs and then make recommendations about the kind of care they believe is best for the older adult and how to pay forit. A geriatric care manager can help client families save money. For example: They may recommendlive-in care when appropriate in place of more expensive alternatives or identify free or low-cost products and services that may be available. They could help a family realize all possible benefits from private insurance and public pro- grams including those from the Veterans Administration, Medicare and Medicare Part D.
