eaewiieee ihe HOLIDAY € # Traditions * 005 White House Christmas Ornament Honors Last Log Cabin President (NAPSA)—A merry way to celebrate the holiday season this year is with the 5th in a series of commemorative ornaments created by the White House His- torical Association. The 005 ornament honors the presidency of James A. Garfield, the last of Pa President Garfield’s monogram “JAG”featured on the 005 orna- ment is reproduced from his inaugural decorations. the log cabin presidents, and reflects his personal style and the Victorian period during which he served as president. Garfield led a life of notable military accomplishments and valor, as well as public service, before he was felled by an assas- sin’s bullet only six months after becoming president. At the White House the Garfields were a large and affectionate family and in her brief time there Mrs. Garfield was working on redecorating the state rooms in a historic manner.
