Avalabie Healthcare Scholarships (NAPSA)—The Department of Labor projects that the number of healthcare jobs in the U.S. will increase by 26 percent between now and 2008. That’s 2.8 million new jobs, in such fields as dental hygiene, occupational therapy, pharmacy, nursing and speechlanguage pathology. An annual scholarship pro- gram helps many students pur- sue a careerin healthcare. For many people, one of the biggest obstacles to pursuing a career in a healthcare-related field is the cost of schooling. At private colleges and universities, an undergraduate education averages $22,533 per year. Then there’s graduate studies, medical school or nursing school. Fortunately, there’s a scholarship program that makes funding available to students pursuing healthcare studies. Now in its 11th year, the Tylenol Scholarship Fund will present 160 awards, totaling $250,000. Since 1992, McNeil Consumer and Specialty Pharmaceuticals, makers of Tylenol, has granted over $5.2 million. Applications are available at Albertson’s, CVS, Eckerd, K-Mart, Kroger, Rite Aid, Target, Wal-Mart and Walgreen’s or online at www.tylenol.com. Applications must be postmarked by April 30, 2002. Winners will be notified by July 15, 2002.
