Diapit MEAL Estate Tax: #1 Issue For Small Businesses @ (NAPSA)—Helping small and family business is a top priority on Capitol Hill and many believe Congress can start by permanently repealing the “death tax.” Small businesses have temporary relief from the estate tax through The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (HR1836). Still, 33 percent of the Alliance for Affordable Services members surveyed feel that the best thing Congress can do for small businesses is permanently repeal the tax, currently scheduled to be reinstated in 2011. Meanwhile, the Alliance also believes that Congressional action on other issues would boost smallbusiness economic growth: 23 percent said increasing tax deductions such as homeoffice and business equipment would be helpful. * 23 percent would like to see Small Business Administration loan programsstrengthened. 15 percent want more tax incentives. e Six percent said lower interest rates would beeffective.
