Musical Fireworks Mark America’s Biggest Birthday Party (NAPSA)—Break out the champagne! America’s biggest birthday party has a double reason to celebrate Independence Day this year when A Capitol Fourth marks its 20th anniversary on the air. For this special occasion, PBS’ top-rated holiday tradition promises an evening of memorable music from the classics to the blues, capped by a dazzling display of fireworks. The 90minute event airs live from Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, July 4, from 8:00 to 9:30 pm ET. Joining host Barry Bostwick for the festivities are double-platinum R&Brecording artist Luther Vandross; The Irish Tenors, whose rousing renditions of popular Irish music have captivated audiences around the world; Grammy award-winning group The Pointer Sisters; and other special guests performing with the National Symphony Orchestra led by renowned pops conductor Erich Kunzel. More than half a million people are expected to attend the concert onsite. A Capitol Fourth will be seen by millions of television viewers nationwide. The concert, which is broadcast from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol building, can be heard live in stereo over National Public Radio and also airs worldwide via the American Forces Radio and Television Network.
