Berry Tops CelebHeadsForThird Straight Year (NAPSA)—Long, short, blonde, red or dark, Americans can’t get enough of Halle Berry. For the third year in a row, Berry topped the Sally CelebHeads survey of celebrities with the best hair. = Nicole Kidman was second favorite, followed by Beyonce Knowles. Respondents voted Mel GibWison, Johnny Depp TH and Colin Farrell one, two and three Kristi Fuhrmann on the men’s side. In contrast to her shortcropped look of the past two years, Berry’s hair has been rich chestnut, long and softly curled in recent appearances. “It’s the new retro romantic influence,” says Kristi Fuhrmann, Hollywood stylists and a Sally Beauty Supply spokesperson. “It trends toward loose, mobile curls and wavesthat have a definite feminine appeal.” If you watched the awards shows, from the Golden Globes through the Country Music Awards, you saw the stars with curvy curls or gentle waves. Kidman, known for her outstanding fashion statements, showed up with curly ‘dos at the Golden Globes, the Oscars and the SAG awards. Beyonce Knowles had soft curls for the music awards ceremonies. There’s a difference in today’s curls, Kristi says. “They are more like the curls we saw in the ’40s and ’50s. They are flat at the top with the volume at the bottom, not like the bouffants of the early 60s.” Think Veronica Lake, with her sultry cascade of waves or Jane Powell’s saucy pageboys. Another step toward feminine appeal comes in half-up styles, Kristi says. “It’s an up ’do, but with lots of tendrils falling out.
