Decoding “The Last Supper” (NAPSA)—A new book by an Italian musicologist holds that Leonardo Da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper” could be more than a feast for the eyes. It could also be music to the ears. A new book shines a fresh light on “The Last Supper.” The author documentshis discovery of musical notes among the bread, hands and fruit on the din- ing table. The authoralso found a prayer hidden among the open spaces and body positions of Jesus and the Apostles. The book, called “Leonardo Da Vinci’s Musical Gifts and Jewish Connections,” includes one more revelation: Contrary to Dan Brown’s assertion in “The Da Vinci Code” that the artist used an image of Mary Magdalene in his portrayal of St. John, this book asserts that Leonardo captured his mother’s face in the painting.
