Bake Sale That Delivers For America’s Children (NAPSA)—Here’s sweet news you may find very rewarding. By creating a few tasty treats and taking part in a nationwide bake sale, Americans can do their part to protect children who are at risk for hunger. The Great American Bake Sale campaign, organized every year between March 1 and June 30 by the nonprofit organization Share Our Strength, has raised nearly $4 million to fight hunger in communities across America. In the world’s wealthiest nation, no child should have to grow up hungry. Yet one in six has limited or uncertain access to the nutritious foods needed to reach full potential. Share Our Strength’s efforts are focused on three areas: increasing access to programs that provide food to children and their families; strengthening community resources that connect children to healthy food; and improving families’ knowledge about how to get the most from limited resources.
