Nationwide IncreaseIn Paper Recycling (NAPSA)—Recycling is one of America’s great environmental success stories, and the paper industry plays a centralrole. The U.S. paper recovery rate has grown to more than 57 percent, according to the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA). Recently, AF&PA announced its 2009 Recycling Award winners. The awards recognized successful and innovative paperrecycling programs in business, community, school and university categories: Business Leadership Recycling—Giant Eagle, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pa. Giant Eagle, Inc. has established a comprehensive corporate paper-recycling program. Last year, the company collected nearly 555 tons of mixed office paper and more than 42,000 tons of old corrugated containers for recycling. Community Recycling— Orange County, N.C.
