The New SweaterGirl (NAPSA)—Maybeit’s a reaction to the depressingly frigid winters we've been having, but this year’s newest knits and sweaters will feature bright colors, lively designs and someof the freshest new looks in recent memory. “Instinctively, the modern woman reaches for a sweater when she wants comfort,” says Olga Yurechko, vice president for design at Designers Originals. “But now that knits are so much more feminine, fun and new, they’re great for whatever mood you're in.” Yurechko says her new collection “updates the classics.” Designers Originals added Lycra to its now famous Luxelon formula (a cashmere look-alike/feelalike material), turning it into something “even more modern.” Here’s a look at what else is new in this season’s collection: Classic Cuts The collection’s sweaters are expected to be formfitting and sophisticated. “We’ve refined and modernized the proportions of our collections,” adds Yurechko. “The silhouette is style conscious but not skimpy. The sweaters are chic and sexy and appeal to every Get Wild Fresh Look—Rhinestones, beads, sequins and ribbonstop off this year’s collection of knits. glamourgirl.” Adornments To Adore Eye-catching hardware—such as metallic rings and buckles, pins and beaded scarves—have been added to the knit’s necklines. “We’ve been doing pearls for 40 years and fashion is just catching up,” says Yurechko. “Everything from deep V necks to the lightreflecting beads and buckles are designedto flatter the face.” The sweaters also include fringed, Chanel-like edging, asymmetrical buttons, “Marilyn” necklines (with an optional zipper) and shirred turtlenecks. This year’s line has a dash of disco thrown in. It features ’"70sinspired rhinestones and sequins, as well as leopard, giraffe and Dalmatian prints—for those who like to walk on the wild side. A Collection Of Colors The line’s sweaters may help brighten up some of the darkerfall and winter days this year. The color themeis “big and bright,” with all hues taken from the sunnier side of the palette. Colors include meringue, sorbet, limeburst, aqua mist, pink ice, marzipan and Rio pink. “You can’t help but notice the collection’s color,” says Yurechko. Retailing for under $50, the sweaters are available in department stores. Wild Thing—Leopard, giraffe and Dalmatian prints adorn today’s hottest sweaters.
