Department Young Poet Brings Comfort To Neighbors (NAPSA)—Thanks to a young man with a poem, the problem of AIDS in Africa is being seen in a more personal context. The young poet, Edward Thomson, from Malawi, Africa, is 13 years old. Encouragedby his father who hassince passed away, he has embarked on a one-man journey against HIV/AIDS through his moving, internationally recognized poem recitals. A Christian humanitarian organization has been fighting the AIDS pandemic in Africa for more than 10 years. His poem, AIDS, was written in loving memory for his aunt who died of the disease, leaving six children behind. Developed for World Vision’s HIV/AIDS project in Senzani, the poem has since made him an icon of HIV/AIDSprevention.
