=< T Doing Good With Wood (NAPSA)—If you “do good with wood”—that is, use your do-ityourself and woodworkingskills to help others—now mightbe time for your “15 minutes of fame,” to quote artist Andy Warhol. Winnersof the Minwax Community Craftsman Award, which recognizes those who contribute to their community through woodworking and woodfinishing, will be announced nationally, spring 2012. Woodworkers with hearts of gold may win cash in a unique contest. Prizes include a cash grant of up to $5,000, wood-finishing products and a consultation with DIY expert and author Bruce Johnson. Past winners include a group of volunteers who built safe, snug new beds for foster kids, a high school teacher who worked with a group of students to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina, another teacher who built new bookshelves for his town library, and high school students who built therapeutic furniture for disabled children.
