Defenders Supporting The Army Onlis New Course (NAPSA)—For the U.S. mili- tary, the events of 2002 were not “business as usual” as it prosecuted the war on terrorism, while transforming itself to meet the emerging challenges of the 21st Century. A private, non-profit educational organization is building public support for the U.S. Army. That’s the key message of an organization that works to foster public support for the Army’s role in national security. The organization—the Association of the United States Army (AUSA)—has created a number of resolutions that set its agenda for the coming year. These include supporting the increase in size of the active force, maintaining the current size of the guard and Army Reserve, improvement in pay, housing for Army personnel and an increase in defense spending.
