TRENDS New Voters (NAPSA)—Thenation’s elector- ate is getting younger. According to Youth Vote Coalition, half the 18- to 29-year-olds in America voted in the 2004 presidential election—an increase of 4.6 mil- lion over the 2000 election, accord- ing to CIRCLE. Young voters are making more and more ofa difference. In Pennsylvania, CBS News reports, young voter participation was up 75 percent. That’s remarkable, in light of the fact that participation amongall voters in the state rose only 16 percent. Youth Vote Coalition registered 120,934 new voters, phone-banked and door-knocked 126,796 Get Out the Vote contacts and held 50 events across the country. The group looks forward to increasing the youth vote even more in the next election.
