Child Exploitation Investigation (NAPSA)—The United States Postal Inspection Service has received the 2003 National Missing and Exploited Children’s Award, the fifth consecutive year it has earned that distinction. No other agency has such a track record. Attorney General John Ashcroft presents the National Missing and Exploited Children’s Award to Postal Inspector Elizabeth Bendel. The award recognizes law enforcement officers for their work in the area of missing and exploited children. This year’s Postal Inspection Service recipient, Inspector Elizabeth Bendel, halted a child pornography opera- tion operating out of Florida, Cuba, and Ecuador. Last year’s recipients broke up a Fort Worth Internet-based company, which led to the largest global action ever against child pornographers. Postal Inspectors are federal law enforcement agents responsi- ble for enforcing more than 200 federal statutes that deal with the United States Postal Service and the U.S. Mail.
