There is one thing that is actually getting more convenient—registering with the Selective Service. Young men are required by law to register with the Selective Service System within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Failure to do so can result in fines and, in some cases, incarceration. By registering with Selective Service, young men remain eligible for Pell Grants and Guaranteed Student/PLUS Loans. Increased Convenience Fortunately, it is now possible to register online.
