LIC Super Vision? (NAPS)—A technology developed by astronomers to see the heavens better may soon be improving eyesight here on Earth. The technology, known as adaptive optics, is expected to dramatically improve the sight of people who have 20/20 vision! It was A new technology is being developed that can make the world look crisper, even for people with normal vision. developed by astronomers to sharpen images from telescopes by correcting for aberrations in the atmosphere. It workslike this: Researchers direct a harmless, highly focused beam of light into the eye and measurethe light that is reflected outward. That light provides a snapshot of the eye in exquisite detail. A sensor then analyzes deviations in each beam’s path, revealing tiny imperfections that exist in the person’s cornea and lens. Researchers are working on ways to correct these imperfections to greatly improvevision.
