OMEOWNERS Reducing Energy Costs (NAPSA)—Just as a mechanic regularly flushes your car’s engine to keep it running efficiently, cleaning your home’s heating and air-conditioning (HVAC) system can lead to better performance and lowerenergy bills. Clean HVAC systems run more efficiently, using less energy. Air duct system cleaning allows systems to run moreefficiently by removing debris from sensitive mechanical components. Clean, efficient systems are less likely to break down, have a longer life span and generally operate more effectively than dirty systems. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recom- mends that air handling units be inspected at least once a year. The air ducts should be inspected at least once every two years. Areas with high humidity should inspect more frequently.
