om Effective Drycieaning (NAPSA)—Even though great advances have been made in the science and technology of drycleaning, the basics haven’t changed that much. New drycleaning equipment is safer and more environmentally responsible than ever before, but most clothes are still cleaned with a solvent called perchloroethyiene (perc). For drycieaning clothes, scientists have yet to come up with anything better than perc. Developed in the 1930s, perc is still considered the most effective drycleaning solution around. Nothing comparable has been found so far, despite many attempts. Pere is used to remove dirt, stains, grease and oil fromclothes, leaving garments soft and bright. The solvent is safe, non-flammabie and non-explosive.
