(NAPSA)—It all started when Jose Morales decided to change. His alcoholism cost him his family, home and job. He entered Alcoholics Anonymous and turned his life around. Jose Morales Today he is sober and helping others recover from addiction. In 1991, Morales opened the doors to J24, a healing shelter for lowincome, Hispanic New Yorkers battling alcoholism. J24 offers a 24-hour-a-day haven in which substance abusers can find food, shelter and a meet- ing place to begin recovery. Morales’ incredible contribution to his community earned him hon- ors at the Volvo for life Awards, an annual search for and celebration of local heroes. In recognition of his extraordinary effort, Volvo awarded him a $25,000 charitable donation.
