A Voluntary Toaster Recall (NAPSA)—If you own a Black & Decker toaster, check to see if your model is being recalled. Applica Consumer Products, Inc., keeping its commitment to consumers, is working in coopera- tion with the Consumer Preduct Safety Commission (CPSC) to inform consumers that it is voluntarily recalling 2.1 million Black & Decker VersaToast™ two- and four-slice toasters (models T1200, T1250, T1400 or T1450.) The model numberis written on the bottom of the toaster. “Black & Decker,” “VersaToast” and “WIDE SLOT”are written on the side of the toaster near the cooking controls. The toasters have either white or black plastic enclosures. Discount department stores, including Wal-Mart, Service Merchandise, Kohl’s Department Stores and Bradlees, sold the toast- ers nationwide from June 1999 through January 2002. The twoslice toasters sold for between $10 and $20. The four-slice toasters sold for between $18 and $30. CHECK YOUR TOASTER—A voluntary toaster recall affecting more than 2.1 million toasters has been announced. Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the Black & Decker VersaToast two- and four-slice toasters and contact Applica by calling 866-264-9230.
