WASHINGTON Should Illegal Aliens Earn Benefits? (NAPSA)—After repeated refusals, the government has finally released the first public copy of a Social Security Totalization Agreement with Mexico. Tilegal Mexican eee An agreement between the U.S. and Mexico could allow workers to becomeentitled to Social Security benefits based on earnings received while working illegally. This agreement has been pending since June of 2004, and could allow millions of Mexican workers and dependents to become entitled to Social Security benefits that include credits for earnings received while workingillegally. The disclosure of this agreement was made in response to a lawsuit filed by TREA Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a 1.2 million- member nonpartisan seniors advocacy group under the Freedom of Information Act. TSCL believes the release of the agreement with Mexico could signal that President Bush may be getting ready to sign it and send it to Congress, which would have only 60 session days to reject it.
